One thing I noticed in Singapore is the honesty of the people, in particular- the taxi drivers.
You know when you take a cab in the Philippines, the most commonly used, gasgas line of all by the drivers is this “naku wala akong barya” just so they could be waved from giving you change.
Mahn..here, even the tiniest centavo would be given to you- your change plus a bonus smile from the driver. Hay, how I wish I could migrate the entire population of Singapore taxi drivers in the Phils hekhek..
Anyway, we left ate Carla’s place around 1 in the afternoon. Hihi.. I could just imagine if mame’s with us now, she might be at her hysteric-mommy mode already seeing us lazing and bumming and yawning around the house, passing time and doing things at a very, very, very to the nth power slow pace hehe…Well, this slow-paced life made us miss ami J

Walk, walk, walk, lakad, lakad, lakad
Went to Bugis then Chinatown and there I bought pasalubongs and stuffs at a very cheap and reasonable price. Yoshoo! I love bargains. I love it! and oh, so cool to buy the Turkish ice cream at the sidewalk.
David Blaine err..Mr. Ice cream pala
Not only did I have an ice cream, I got to enjoy the Turkish magic show as well. He showed me some of his magic stints while preparing my ice cream. The vendor would let you hold the cone, then make it disappear, then do the trick again, now with a scoop of ice cream on top already. Coolness.

Walk. Walk. Walk. Then we also visited the museum in the middle of Chinatown (hehe…selective memory at times. Forgot the name of the place). I just love looking at those old, dusty and rusty and crispy (applies to the old papers and clothes) memorable stuffs and, learning at the same time.
Think about this, it’s like reading historical Chinese books minus the laziness of doing so J great.

Shopping for shoes and slippers…outside the temple. hehe..
Then after the museum, here comes the ADVENTURE.
Since Preggy Putsog’s so tired from the day’s walk already and Patty’s so willing to have her backpacking adventure, Patty went to Sentosa, a leisure island in Singapore, all be her self. She tried the Luge and the fascinating “Songs of the Sea” show (incredible lights, sounds and water kind of show showcasing a hologram-like effect of some of the characters!). It was so much fun! Though she had a marvelous time, one thing she realized- it’s still a totally different feeling if you have companyJ (awww…. hehe)

Dinner sa Pepper Lunch
MR. HELPFUL ANONYMOUS

Sabi ng map may nawawalang bata..
Going there was a breeze. Looked at the signage, followed the mass traffic and asked bystanders gazzilion of times.
Going back however was a totally different thing. Te Carla’s instruction was so simple- get off at the Paya Lebar MRT station and just walk to Gaylang Street.
But no…I never thought Sing have like 3 roads with Gaylang as the name! While walking and pretending to be strolling around for people not to notice that I was completely blank as to where I must go, a guy of my age riding a motorcycle stopped and asked if I happen to know where block 25 is. Okay, a lost person asking another lost person. Great. I explained that I’m just touring around. Plain and simple
He offered to take me there but for safety purposes of course, inasmuch as I and my aching and screaming feet and legs WANT to, I refused the offer.
He was so insistent and I was equally hesitant. So he came up with the idea that he’ll take me there but instead of I riding with him, I’ll just walk while he drive slowly beside me. Nice..
But to cut the long story short, the idea wasn’t a success because apparently, I was so far from Gaylang already and walking wasn’t the practical thing to do. I decided to just take a cab and thanked him for being helpful. (for every centavo being added to the taxi meter, i kept on computing how much it would cost in peso hehe..)
We shook hands, thanked each other and fled off. And great, I forgot to even ask the name of this helpful fellow.

Hehe… I checked out the place on the net again today to find the name… nagkamali ata ako… the name of the reso is Pasta de Waraku. It’s in Central Mall at Clarke Quay. So now I’m not so sure anymore if it’s also in Raffles… anyway, it’s still in Singapore (talk about a lack of sense of direction!). If I get a chance to go to Singapore, then I’ll have to hit that place! There’s just so many kinds of pasta to try! Fish roe, Kimchi, crab and lettuce, tuna and daikon, crab, lobster, king prawn… yummm…ehehe… Now, I just have to save up enough money so I can go to Shin Yokohama’s Ramen Museum, Fukuoka, etc. etc… It’s gonna take me forever to save up for all those!!!
